ASP Broadcast

The Nebo Elementary School Broadcast and Technology Club meets during ASP on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:00 to 5:00.  This club is open to students in 4th and 5th grades.

Students in Broadcast club will learn how to set up and operate video and sound equipment in the Nebo Television Studio.  In addition, students will learn how to give news broadcasts on Nebo Network News during the morning announcements.  Students will learn to use Microsoft Office and OpenOffice to create and communicate through digital media.  Students will learn the basic elements of graphic design and produce animated films, create web pages, and create other digital media.

In Broadcast we will also learn the basics of computer programming with the Scratch, Alice, and Python programming languages.  Students will create basic video games, simulations, and other basic programs.

The ultimate goal of the Broadcast Club is for students to be fluent in using digital media to create and communicate with others.

Because the ASP Broadcast Club is part of Nebo ASP, students must stay in ASP on the days they have Broadcast Club.  Parents must inform homeroom teachers on Wednesdays that students need to go to ASP.  Parents must also follow Nebo ASP procedures and pick up students in the front lobby of Nebo.  ASP currently charges $6.00 per day.  Nebo ASP policies for further information on cost.

All ASP programs are PREPAID programs that will cost $6.00 per day.  Students must be checked out in the lobby after the program is over.
