Lesson 01: Creating a Google Site

1. Sign in to Google Account (google.com/sites)
2. Click "Create" to make a new website.
3. Select a Template (We will use Blank template)
4. Type a name for your site and click "Create"
5. Click the "Edit" Icon to edit the start page.
6. Type a label at the top of the page. ("Nebo Elementary Department of Music")
7. Select Layout and select "Left SideBar"
8. Type or paste a greeting into the body of the web page.
9. Click on left and select "Insert-Subpage" listing
10. Delete the title "Subpage listing"
11. Select "Top Level."
12. Delete the 250 in Width.
13. Click "Save"
14. Click Save to save and view the page.
15. Click "Edit" page and type in a weekly schedule below the greeting.

Lesson 02: Adding a Page to your Google Site.

1. Log into Google Sites and go to your site.
2. Click the "Add page Icon."
3. Type "Chorus" for the page name.
4. Leave the page selected as "Web Page"
5. Leave the page selected as "Put page at the top level."
6. Click "Create"
7. Click "Save" and then Select "More - Page Settings" and disable "Allow Comments."
8. Go to edit mode.
9. Change the format to Layout - LeftSidebar
10. Select "Insert - Subpage Listing"
11. Select "Top Level."
12. Delete the 250 in Width.
13. Click "Save".
14. Type in Content in the center block. (Description of Chorus. When the Chorus practices, dates of concerts . . .)
15. Click "Save"
16. Note that the there is now a link to the Chorus Page from the main page.

Lesson 03: Setting Up a Links Page.

1. Log in to Google Sites and go to your site.
2. Select "Add page Icon"
3. Type "Music Links" for the page name.
4. Select Page at Top Level and click "Create."
5. Change the format to Layout - LeftSidebar
6. Select "Insert - Subpage Listing"
7. Select "Top Level."
8. Delete the 250 in Width.
9. Click "Save".
10. Open a new tab and find a website you want to bookmark:
Example: http://www.philtulga.com/fractionbars.html
11. Copy the URL (address) of the outside website.
12. Go back to your google Music Links page.
13. Type "Fraction Bars Website" - format as needed
14. Highlight text and select link icon.
15. Click on "Web address" and paste in the link you copied.
16. Now you have a hyperlink. Click Save and check link.
17. Select "More" and "Preview Pages in View."
18. Test the new link.
19. Add more links as needed.
20. Click "Save" and then Select "More - Page Settings" and disable "Allow Comments."

Lesson 04: Setting Up an Activity Page.

1. Log in to Google Sites and go to your site.
2. Select "Add page Icon"
3. Type "Exercises" for the page name.
4. Select Page at Top Level and click "Create."
5. Change the format to Layout - LeftSidebar
6. Select "Insert - Subpage Listing"
7. Select "Top Level."
8. Delete the 250 in Width.
9. Click "Save".
10. Click "Save" and then Select "More - Page Settings" and disable "Allow Comments."
11. Click edit and add your own content as needed.

Lesson 05: Adding a Google Calendar.

1. Make sure you have made a google Calendar
2. Log into Google Sites and go to your site.
3. Select "Add page Icon"
4. Type "Music Calendar" for the page name.
5. Select Page at Top Level and click "Create."
6. Change the format to Layout - LeftSidebar
7. Select "Insert - Subpage Listing"
8. Select "Top Level."
9. Delete the 250 in Width.
10. Click "Save".
11. Click "Save" and then Select "More - Page Settings" and disable "Allow Comments."
12. Click Edit Page
13. Select Insert and Select Google Calendar. Select your Calendar and delete the title and Click Save.
14. Test the links - you should see your calendar.

Lesson 06: Making Page Public and Sharing URL.

1. Open your site and Click the Share button
2. Select "Public on the Web, anybody can view."
3. Click "Save"
4. You may share your link via Social Media.
5. Copy the Link and paste into a text editor as reference.
