Sub Plans for Music
Thursday and Friday, January 24th and 25th, 2008
Mr. Michaud

Greetings!

Thanks for covering my music classes.  You will find all the materials on a chair in the center of the room.  The music for the classes can be found on www.nebomusic.net/subplans. Click on the link for these plans and the music links will be in blue.  Simply click the lings to play the music.  The large black amplifier next the computer will play the music.  Adjust the volume with the knob to the left of the amp.  Please make sure amp is turned off at the end of the day.  To Log In to the Teacher Computer, type "search_1" into the login field without a password.

Please do the following Lesson with 4th and 5th Grades:

Students are working on research projects and creating web pages about instruments (4th Grade) and Composers (5th Grade).  Pass out the research sheets located in the recorder bins to the class.  Make sure each team has a pencil and direct them to continue research and finish writing their paragraphs.  Their computer assignments are located on the top of their research sheets.

4th Grade Instructions
5th Grade Instructions

Some groups will have already started typing their paragraphs into Mozilla Composer (Computers 2-9) or Google Docs (Teacher computer, Computer 1, and Computer 10).  If they have previously saved work, direct them to do the following:

(Computers 2-9 and iMAC)
Open Mozilla (Red Dinosaur)
Select Window-Composer from Menu Bar
Click the “Open” icon
Click the “Home” Folder (/home/nebomusic)
Click on “4th Grade Instrument” or “5th Grade Composer” to find their previous work.
Select “Open”
Work on typing in their paragraph.

For Google Docs Computers (Teacher Dell, #1, and #10)
Go to www.google.com/docs
You should already be logged in as nebomusicstudent@yahoo.com
Scroll down left pane and you should see folders labeled 4th Grade Instrument Projects and 5th Grade Composer Projects
Select their previous work
Click to Open.

Students might have trouble finding their previous work.  If this is the case, direct them to handwrite their paragraphs on the blank paper I have provided.  They can also do more internet research on their topic to gather more facts.

If needed, show movie: Beethoven Lives Upstairs.
