Tech Lesson 2: All About Me (3rd, 4th, 5th Grades)

Standards:

Project Requirements:

You must create a Text document using Open Office Text or Microsoft Word that has the following:

1. A title in the following format:

All About Me
by: Firstname Lastname


2.  At least 1 paragraph and with at least 4 sentences describing yourself.  Some ideas include:
  • What you want to do when you grow up.
  • Favorite subject or topic in school.
  • Favorite sport of athletic activity.
  • What movie or music you enjoy and why.
  • Special skills or abilities.
3.  Each sentence must start with a capital letter and have the proper punctuation.  Use the computer to help with spelling questions.  Don't forget to capitalize your name in the title.

4.  A picture of yourself below the paragraph.


Directions for "All About Me":


1.  In your notebook, write a rough draft with at least 4 sentences describing yourself.

2.  Using the MacBook Computer and "Photo Booth:"
  a.  Take a picture of yourself. 
        1.  Click the Camera Icon one time
        2.  The computer will beep and take the picture
  b.  Drag and copy the picture to your file area
       ("NeboMusicWork/Grade/Teacher/Lastname Firstname")

3.  At your assigned computer - Start Open Office or Microsoft Word

4.  Select "File -> New -> Text Document"

5.  Type your title.  Do not worry about centering the Title

6.  Type your paragraph.

7.  Place the curser below the paragraph.

8.  Select "Insert -> Picture -> From File" and find your picture.  Click "OK" to put the picture in your document.

9.  Click once on your Title.

10.  Use the Center Icon to center the title.

11.  Use the Italic Icon to make the title Italic.

12.  Select "File -> Save" and Save your work in your file area as:  "Lastname About Me."
