Teaching Students to Program with Scratch: GaETC 2007

Greetings!

The Nebo Fine Arts Technology students are looking forward to their presentations at the GaETC on Wednesday, November 14th.  This letter will outline the assigned shift times, what to wear, and directions to the Georgia International Convention Center.

GaETC Conference Nov. 14th 9:30-3:30 Schedule

Students and parents in the 8:30 shift will meet Mr. Michaud in the Lobby of the Convention Center near the exhibit hall.  Mr. Michaud will then direct the students and parents to register and get their name badges.  We will set the booth up from 8:45 to 9:15.  Lunch will be between 11:30 and 12:30. The Exhibit starts at 9:30 AM. 

Students and parents in the 11:30 shift will proceed to the registration area and sign in to get their name badges.  After getting your ID badges, proceed to the main exhibit hall and go to the 100 isle.  The student showcase booths should be towards the back.  We will eat lunch between 11:30 and 12:30.  The exhibit is over at 3:30 and we will take down the booth between 3:30 and 4:15.

During both shifts the students will spend about 2 hours presenting and have the other 2 hours for lunch and exploring the exhibits with their parents.  Please remember that students must be with an adult at all times during the convention.

What to Wear:

Please wear nice tan or khaki pants with shoes or sneakers.  No sandals, crocs, of flip-flops please.  We want to look professional while we represent Nebo and Paulding County.  Please have a plain short sleeved shirt available.  Mr. Michaud will provide a "Nebo Fine Arts" polo shirt to wear over your short sleeved shirt.  Please remember to dress professionally. 

Directions to the Georgia International Convention Center:

From I-20 West (Six Flags, Birmingham):
I-20 East to I-285 South.
Exit Camp Creek Parkway (exit #2).
Turn left onto Camp Creek Parkway and travel approximately 2.6 miles through 7 traffic lights.
At the 8th traffic light, turn right into the Gateway Center.
The Georgia International Convention Center will be on the right.

Parking is available at the convention center for a fee.
